FAQ About Massage

Hunab Ku Hunab Ku Kokopelli Kokopelli
1. What do I do when I arrive?

I will ask you some questions about your body and may have you fill out a questionnaire. Please tell me at the beginning of the massage which parts of your body you are having trouble with so I can address those body parts during the massage.

2. What should I wear during a massage?

I ask you to be completely nude. If you are uncomfortable with that let me know and we will make it work.

3. Am I covered with a sheet or a blanket?

Your body will be covered with a sheet if you prefer. Its OK not to be covered at all if you like. I only uncover the part of the body I am massaging. I keep the room temperature up so you won't get cold. I will cover you with a blanket if you get cold.

4. Do I lay face up or face down on the massage table?

I usually start my clients face down. Your face will fit comfortably in a face cradle pillow with a hole for your mouth and nose. I use bolster type pillows where needed under your ankles or under your knees. I will have you turn over when we are ready to do the other side of your body.

5. What kind of oil or lotion do you use?

I typically use a really nice massage cream, plain Almond Oil or Coconut Oil. Occasionally I will add scented essential oils for added therapeutic benefits. If you are allergy sensitive I will use Coconut oil. It is the most hypoallergenic of all the oils.

6. What parts of the body are covered during a massage?

I massage the feet, legs, butt, abdomen, back, chest, abdomen, arms, hands, neck, head, and face. I massage any body parts or muscles that I find to be stiff and need attention.

7. What sensations can I expect to feel in my body?

Possible sensations you will feel are: warm, pressure, tingly, dull achy, tickling, euphoric, erotic, nurturing, loving etc. If you feel any shooting pain or piercing pain, that is nerve pain. Please let me know right away.

8. Why do my sinuses get stuffed up?

Your sinuses plug up due to the massage pushing out toxins and fluids from the muscle tissues. The first place it all goes to be expelled is the lungs and the sinuses. Ask for a tissue if you need one.

9. Should I like moan and groan if the massage feels good?

Yes. The more you “moan & groan” the better massage you will get. Vocalizing lets me know what feels really good to you so I will do more of those massage strokes on that body part.

10. Should I let you know if it hurts?

Yes. Sometimes it can “hurt so good” and sometimes it hurts bad. Let me know. It rarely hurts bad. But occasionally we find a spot that really hurts.

11. What if I have to go to the bathroom or if I get thirsty or have to blow my nose during the massage?

Just let me know and we will stop so you can get up and go. Let me know if you get thirsty. I always have a glass of water standing by for my clients. Ask for a tissue when you need one. Drink plenty of water after your massage. Massage releases trapped toxins that are best flushed from the body with lots of water.

12. Can I talk during the massage?

You may talk if it makes you more comfortable. Always feel free to ask questions throughout the massage.

13. What if I fall asleep?

It’s OK to fall asleep. Usually my clients go in and out of sleep due to massages euphoric nature.

14. Can I take a shower afterwards?

Yes. Just let me know before hand. I will provide the towel and soap. If you prefer, it is good to allow all of the oil to soak into your body too.

15. When do I pay you? Is it ok to leave a tip?

You may pay me before or after the massage. Yes. I do accept tips.
